A Message from the Founder:
Pinning
Down Autism was born out of the idea of a couple of
high school coaches with autistic children to have a
fund raising presence at wrestling tournaments. Our
vision is to hold wrestling tournaments nationwide and
ultimately worldwide. The purpose of our events is to
include the entire local community as well as our wrestlers
in raising awareness of the autism epidemic, what we
can all do to support the advancement of public resources,
and to raise funds that will go toward biomedical research
in finding a cure.
As members of the wrestling community, we are well aware
of the strength and quality of character that is created
by our training. This call to action comes for the benefit
of our community that needs what we have to provide
in overcoming a devastating affliction that is overtaking
us.
I wish to personally thank you for taking a few minutes
to know more about the epidemic that is autism, what
the power of the wrestling community is doing to help
eliminate it and what you can do to join in the fight.
Sincerely,
Jason Bross
Wrestler/Coach/Father of a child with autism
Some objectives of The Pinning Down Autism Foundation:
- To hold wrestling events nationwide and ultimately worldwide. The purpose of our events are to include entire communities as well as our wrestlers in raising awareness of the autism epidemic, what we can all do to support the advancement of public resources, and to raise funds that will go toward biomedical research in finding a cure.
- To support existing foundations who share our mission, such as Autism Speaks, Neighborheart, the National Autism Association, The Autism Society, and other worthy foundations.
- To connect wrestling clubs with their local autism resource providers so that they can hold events to benefit them directly and become actively involved in improving their own communities.
-
To educate the public about the actions or lack thereof by their elected officials and actively fight for improved government participation.
- To advocate for children and families affected by autism who are subjected to inferior care, services, educational opportunity or are discriminated against by any entity, public or private.
